Proposed Morro Bay VISTRA Battery Storage Facility

Presenters Brad Watson and Eric Cherniss will introduce VISTRA, which has proposed a battery storage facility at Morro Bay’s power plant site. Vistra provides essential resources for customers, businesses and communities with more than 50 power plants in 20 states, District of Columbia, Canada and Japan. Vistra is the largest competitive residential electricity provider in the US.

Brad Watson, Sr. Director of Community Affairs, works with communities, chambers of commerce and community groups as the company intends to ultimately play a pivotal role as a future good neighbor and corporate citizen of Morro Bay. Brad was formerly a television journalist for 34 years with WFAA-TV, Dallas-Fort Worth, including anchoring from 1992-2000. He’s a graduate of Iowa State University.

Eric Cherniss, Sr. Director of Corporate Development and Strategy, is responsible for developing and executing Vistra’s long-term corporate strategy, including the development of strategic growth opportunities across the country to support the company’s vision and future growth
